Psychological Services

I was holidaying in Greece when I met Aimee and in true chatty fashion we hit it off, talking about all sorts. I told her that I worked in London as a Casting Director and she told me she was a therapist specialising in ADHD. I explained that I had been seeing a therapist for the past year who had identified ADHD in me and made an NHS referral, as the waiting lists were so long, Aimee came to London to assess me. Aimee helped me to accept who I was as a person and she changed my self perception in a positive way. She helped me to understand the reasons behind my actions and behaviour that were different to my peers. Before seeing Aimee I knew that my brain didn't work the same as those around me and I had been misdiagnosed with depression however, I knew that there was more to it than this. Working with Aimee on a diagnosis allowed us to dig into my past and understand the behaviours that's had been frequent. Aimee was kind, empathic and supportive through the whole process and she put me completely at ease. She has an open and warm nature that you instantly connect with allowing you to be open and truthful when it comes to the assessment. Aimee really helped me gain an understanding of ADHD post diagnosis and I will attend her group therapy on the next intake. I cannot recommend her enough and am so grateful for the freedom am acceptance that she has allowed me.
My diagnosis process with Aimee and Dr Mayaki was a very positive one. I was in the middle of my PHD and was struggling every day with focus of attention and distractibility which came with mountains of shame and significant overwhelm. I approached Aimee at my breaking point as I felt that there was something wrong with my brain. Friendships were difficult as I was struggling to maintain them, Time has been so understanding and validating from the beginning and we through a process of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which made a huge difference, working with my Core beliefs and re-wiring my thought processes whilst recognising the executive functioning difficulties that is a symptom of ADHD. Aimee paired me up with a psychiatrist and attended the appointment with me who prescribed Stimulant medication. The change has been huge and I am actually enjoying my PHD again and I feel able to manage completion. We also recognised the positives of my ADHD presentation - I am very creative as well as a loyal friend. I am so grateful for her expertise and empathic approach.
